
Both versions of FACE ANIMATION IMPORTER (this free LITE version and the paid PRO version) allow iClone 8.4 users to import face animation recorded with the LIVELINK FACE app, in either ARKIT or MetaHuman Animator mode.
(Recordings with the MetaHuman Animator mode require an extra step of processing in Unreal Engine, using the included script.)
The PRO version includes AUTOMATIC adjustment of the final face animation, to reduce the problem of ‘Blendshape overdrive’ - which is when the source MetaHuman face rig provides (1) extremely high Blendshape weights that are beyond what the iClone / CC face can handle, and/or (2) a combination of Blendshapes that cause the iClone / CC face isn’t designed to combine, and so the face mesh starts to “break”.
The LITE version imports only the ‘raw’ data without applying any fixes. You will need to manually fix ‘Blendshape overdrive’ issues (using the CURVE EDITOR is the easiest way).
IMPORTANT: The MetaHuman facial rig is very different to the iClone / Character Creator face. The results in the PRO version aren’t perfect, and may require further optimizing inside of iClone. I suggest you install and try the LITE version before you purchase the PRO version, to make sure the results are what you’re after.
